Elena is Oekraïense en is door het uitbreken van de oorlog in Oekraïne in maart van dit jaar samen met haar zoon naar Nederland gevlucht. Zij zijn lopend naar Polen en vervolgens met de trein naar Amsterdam gekomen. Haar echtgenoot en de rest van haar familie zitten nog in Oekraïne.

Tennis is Elena’s passie. Tot haar 18e speelde ze op nationaal niveau en kwam zij uit voor Oekra-ine. Later heeft zij aan het Kiev Instituut van Sport de 2-jarige opleiding tot tennistrainer afge-rond. Hiernaast is Elena ook psychotherapeut.

Via haar toenmalige gastgezin is Elena in maart met ons in contact gekomen en is zij sinds de start van het seizoen één van onze nieuwe trainers en geeft zij drie dagen in de week les bij ons. Daarnaast zet zij zich ook in als psychotherapeut om andere Oekraïense vluchtelingen te helpen.

Intussen zit Elena samen met haar zoon alweer 5 weken in haar tweede gastgezin in Amstelveen. Ook dit adres is helaas tijdelijk en zal zij zeer binnenkort moeten verlaten.

Graag willen wij Elena helpen een plek te vinden waar zij en haar zoon voor langere tijd kunnen blijven wonen. De wens is om iets te vinden in Amsterdam of Amstelveen zodat zij enigszins in de buurt van haar werk en haar zoons school kan blijven en ook het liefst een plek waarbij ze niet boven op de lip van een gastgezin hoeven te zitten.

Elena is Ukrainian and due to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine she fled to the Netherlands with her son in March of this year. They walked to Poland and then came to Amsterdam by train. Her husband and the rest of her family are still in Ukraine.

Tennis is Elena's passion. Until she was 18 she played at national level and played for her Country. Later she completed the 2-year training as a tennis trainer at the Kiev Institute of Sport. In addition, Elena is also a psychotherapist.

Elena came into contact with us in March through her host family at the time and she has been one of our new trainers since the start of the season and she gives lessons at DDV three days a week. She also works as a psychotherapist to help other Ukrainian refugees.

Elena and her son have now been staying 5 weeks at their second host family in Amstelveen. Unfortunately, this address is also temporary and she will have to leave here very soon.

We would like to help Elena find a place where she and her son can continue to live for a longer period of time. The wish is to find something in Amsterdam or Amstelveen so that she can stay somewhat close to her work and her son's school also preferably a place where they don't crowd a host family.
